Quantitative Research Analyst

  • Shelton Group is seeking a Quantitative Research analyst to program and analyze primary research for both Shelton and its roster of national clients.

    You'll need to be a detail-oriented perfectionist who can thrive in a stimulating and fast-paced environment, have a minimum of two years' marketing research experience, and a Bachelor’s degree. You'll also need to be proficient in SPSS and an online/CADI survey programming tool (Sawtooth experience would be excellent), in addition to familiarity with table export/tabulation software and MS PowerPoint/XLS for graph development. Experience with consumer segmentation, as well as knowledge and experience in utilizing a variety of statistical methods, including multiple regression and conjoint analysis is also required. Finally, secondary analysis experience utilizing social media data mining techniques and/or licensed data usage (e.g. MRI) would also be beneficial.

Senior Research Insights Analyst

  • Shelton Group is seeking a Senior Research Insights Analyst to lead the design, analysis and synthesis of primary and secondary research to identify actionable marketing insights. The person in this role will work side-by-side with other analysts and the VP of Research and Insights to sift through data gleaned from quantitative, qualitative and secondary research projects to find the story in the numbers; tell that story in a compelling way, and give our clients a clear pathway forward with their marketing efforts

    Job Requirements:
    • Be able to utilize, integrate and synthesize findings from a variety of research methods including secondary data analysis, communication audits, existing client research, custom quantitative surveys, online and in-person group discussions and one-on-one interviews.
    • Go beyond simple reporting of findings to connect to the clients’ objectives and strategic initiatives- identifying themes and presenting findings in narrative format which drills to deeper, actionable, strategic insights.
    • Utilize strategic business thinking skills to make smart recommendations about what the client should do, based on the results (e.g. What should they change? How should they prioritize their resources? What should the messaging strategy be?).
    • Be adept at developing the final power point analysis presentation for research studies, with the demonstrated ability to edit 100+ slide research findings decks down to short, engaging overviews of the most important insights, takeaways and recommendations.
    • Demonstrated ability to create and utilize a variety of data visualization tools including infographics, charts, graphs, etc. to effectively and succinctly communicate results.
    • Demonstrated ability to create detailed personas/target audience profiles that go beyond basic demographics to reflect deeper drivers, preferences, priorities, etc. to bring the target “to life.”
    • Directly interact with Account Executives and clients in project kick-off meetings (both on the phone and in-person) to brainstorm and recommend the best methodological approach to address research needs. Amicably interact with and question clients to glean the information necessary to scope/price projects accurately and write a good first draft of survey instruments and discussion guides. Diplomatically negotiate client-requested changes either directly, or through client consultants, to ensure both client satisfaction and data validity.
    • Be able to validate tabulations and utilize for analysis – identifying key findings, profiling target audiences, indexing, and pointing out significant differences in the data, where appropriate.
    • Be familiar with a variety of statistical methods including correlations, T/Z-Tests, ANOVA, factor analysis, multivariate regression or discriminate analysis, and cluster analysis, along with conjoint / discrete choice methods such as logit and Hierarchical Bayes, and be able to suggest, interpret and explain the statistical analysis methods used for projects.
    • Be familiar with, able to integrate, current and foundational psycho-social research theories regarding human behavior, values and motivation into analysis and recommendations.
    • Be a good collaborator – working well with the VP Research and Planning and other members of the Leadership Team, as well as other Analysts, Account Executives, Creative Planner, and the Traffic and Production Departments.
    • Work closely with the VP Research and Insight, Creative Planner, and Account Executives to offer ideas, support, and information for the next phase of client engagement, including creative brief and campaign development - utilizing information gleaned in the research phase.
    • Be a great presenter of findings to clients, via either web-ex or in-person.

    Minimum Credentials:
    • 10+ years experience in research design and analysis
    • Masters Degree or more
    • Client-side business experience a plus
    • International research experience a plus
    • B to B research experience a plus

Digital Product Manager

When did you last sketch a website or app idea on a cocktail napkin? Are you multilingual, able to speak Business, Creative, and Technical with fluency? If so, you may be the right candidate to join our growing digital team.

    Shelton Group, the nation’s leading communications agency focused exclusively on sustainability and energy marketing, is hiring a Digital Product Manager to lead product development of our growing portfolio of client interactive projects and proprietary digital solutions. Working directly with the VP, Digital, the Digital Product Manager will be responsible for day-to-day management of several digital products, including Do 5 Things, our innovative, patent-pending behavior change and engagement platform for the utility industry.

    Shelton Group follows an experience-driven, Agile-style development process, and works closely with our award-winning research and creative teams to devise solutions that drive performance and get results. The Digital Product Manager will:

    • Define product strategy and roadmap;
    • Design or manage design of an intuitive user experience;
    • Develop product requirements documentation;
    • Oversee technical development teams;
    • Ensure that key stakeholders are fully informed of progress and performance;
    • Plan and implement all device compatibility, user acceptance and quality assurance testing; and
    • Collaborate with internal and external resources to ensure on-time, on-spec, and on-budget delivery of digital products.

    The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years demonstrated experience in a similar role. Experience working on Agile development, user-centered design, or creative services teams is required. Familiarity with HTML5/CSS3, jQuery, PHP, MySQL, and similar technologies is preferred. Sample work product—strategic plans, product roadmaps, requirements documentation, wireframes, etc.—will be key to our evaluation of your fit for this position.
